STEAMBOAT ROCK, IOWA | THE VALLEY OF FRIENDLINESS

Welcome to the Steamboat Rock Historical Society

Our aim is to preserve the history of Steamboat Rock by gathering written family histories and stories, collecting photos and memorabilia.

We help others locate information about their own family histories.

The Historical Society seeks to promote the knowledge of our history and heritage. We assisted others in the community with the biennial Cemetery Theater for eight years. This event portrayed the lives of individuals buried in the Steamboat Rock Cemetery.

We also bring in special speakers from around the state of Iowa to share historical events that would have impacted the lives of those in this area.

We are always looking for stories which help us see and understand our past. Do you have a story?
