Businesses and trades that were in Steamboat Rock in 1911 that have not already been discussed include a farm implement store operated by Sanders and Eckhoff, and another by Luiken and Cramer. Sanders and Eckhoff also operated a Furniture store.
General Merchandise was handled by the Johnson brothers, Asher & Son, and the Eilers Mercantile Company. T.K. Reed, was the only druggist.
Inside the Reed Drugstore
The Steamboat Rock Lumber Company, was well established and was managed by E.W. Noyes.
Ole Matherson operated a meat market. There were two restaurants owned by C.L. Fiske, and B.B. Morse respectively.
J. W. and his son J. Willard Caldwell cared for the sick as the communities physicians.
A shooting gallery was opened in the Neessen building on market street by A.J. Frost of Marshalltown. It was later taken over by Dr. Willard Caldwell, and moved to the Sharpshair building next to the post office.
Mayor Caldwell inspected the businesses in town for gambling devices and gave warning that they were to be done away with by order of the Attorney General.
In May of 1911 the fence was installed at the cemetery.
Notary Publics, H. H. Turner, Henry Luiken served the community, and Luiken operated an Insurance business.
William Hathaway had a barber shop. There was also a jewelry store owned by Hilko Swyter that also housed a shoe shop run by Berand Eilers.
The Livery business was operated by Briggs and Hughes.
