Growing Beyond Their Dreams

A Methodist Episcopal Church was begun at Hazel Green in 1857, by Rev. E.C.Crippen. This church was the
foundation of the Methodist Episcopal church at Steamboat Rock. 

The Methodist church experienced strong growth Steamboat Rock, in its first years. In 1870 under another minister, Rev. Hall, a church building was constructed at the cost of $1500.00.
